Lever/Pad

Drooping lever door handles can be caused by various causes. The most common reason is that the fixings are over tightened and are putting strain on the lever bearing which causes it to become a bind on the door's face. It could also be due to the fact that the levers are not being operated at a straight angle and this is causing the latch mechanism preventing it from fully springing back into operation.
Another common cause is that the sprung lever isn't working properly. This is typically due to the sprung not being in the proper position within the backplate. To check if the handle returns to horizontal, simply operate it.
If your door handles are loose it is important to identify the issue fast, as this could lead to excessive wear on the screws, and even to the handle falling off the base plate. You should also tighten loose screws frequently to stop them from becoming looser.
